Welcome to the world of high-octane sales with Salesforce’s Winter ‘22 release. Salesforce tightens its grip on the title of “Sales Platform World Champion” with some helpful upgrades to sales functionality.
With so many great sales changes, it was tough to pick only three to feature in this blog. To read more about the dozens of other sales changes, see the links at the bottom of this article.
Why the Change?
If your users already create their own email templates using Lightning Email Templates, which were released last year, then you know how awesome the Email Template Builder is. (If not, what are you waiting for? Turn on the Email Template Builder!) With Winter ‘22, Salesforce has kicked up its awesomeness a few notches higher.
What’s New?
Lots! In addition to the buttons, HTML, images, and rich text components you got in 2021, you can now:
Which Editions Will Get This?
This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions, as well as all editions of Pardot in the Pardot Lightning app.
How Do You Use It?
First, if you need to turn the Lightning Email Templates Email Template Builder on, read this.
In the Email Template Builder:
Why the Change?
Have you ever wished you could sort your Upcoming and Overdue Activities by newest to oldest? If yes, you’re not alone. Until now, if an item coming in today had a higher priority, you’d still have to scroll down to see it. Ouch!
What’s New?
Finally, with Winter ‘22, you can sort your activity timeline from newest to oldest and decide for yourself what is highest priority.
How To Use It?
From the “Activities” tab, click the gear to open the “Settings” panel, and adjust the “SORT UPCOMING & OVERDUE ACTIVITIES” to the setting you want. Click “Apply & Save.” Problem solved!
Note that “Oldest dates first” is the default.
Why the Change?
With so many people working remotely these days, managers need to be able to assign noncontiguous territories to people. Before Winter ’22, this was not supported in Salesforce Maps Territory Planning.
What’s New?
Now, sales managers can set the geographic profile for any territory to “Noncontiguous” and easily optimize them across multiple remote sales reps.
Which Editions will Get This?
This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic for Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
How To Use It?
Using the example below, we start with a couple of contiguous territories in North Carolina. Say you want to assign two noncontiguous territories to two remote sales reps. Simply select the two territories and change their geographic profiles to “Noncontiguous.”
Then optimize the focus and see the results for the two noncontiguous territories (Virtual-1 and Virtual-2).
